Elementary (Level 1)
Why come?
Our Elementary class is ideal if you’re new to Form School – or to any kind of Pilates – kick starting your exercise regime, or you are looking to refine and practice your technique from the beginning.
A basic level of fitness is helpful, but not essential. However, level of fitness is not the sole reason to choose these classes. The workouts are based around the Reformer bed, and will focus on specific techniques, learning to engage and strengthen core muscle groups. This is the perfect environment to become familiar and comfortable with the Reformer bed and the techniques involved.
What to wear?
You’ll need to wear comfy but practical clothes that will allow you to move freely (most people wear stretch pants or shorts and a t-shirt or sports top). You won’t need runners, bare feet or socks are cool with us.
What to expect?
When it’s your first class please be there 15 minutes early to sign the registration form and meet your instructor. This is for your safety and you will not be allowed to train if you haven’t completed this before the class begins. Your instructor will introduce you to the equipment, techniques and exercises that will form the foundation of your education in Reformer Pilates.
You will focus on how core muscles work, gaining control over them which will improve strength, posture and flexibility. Your instructor will make sure you get a great workout!
These classes are an ideal introduction to Reformer Pilates – the sooner you feel confident with the equipment and techniques, the faster you’ll see the rewards. Your core strength and flexibility will improve and when you to move up to Middle & High School, you’ll have the foundation to maximise the benefits from the workout.
